Donald Robinson was 28 when he was shot and killed on July 16, 2011, at the intersection of 19th and West Streets in Oakland, California. His death occurred during a notably violent year for the city, which recorded 110 homicides in 2011 — an increase from prior years and concentrated largely among young Black men in East and West Oakland.

That year’s pattern underscores persistent problems in neighborhoods facing economic hardship and elevated crime. Many homicide cases from 2011 remained unsolved, and Robinson’s killing is one of several that continued to raise concerns about public safety and justice in the community.

If anyone has information about Robinson, the shooting, or his movements that day, please come forward to help bring answers.
