On the night of April 12, 2025, a shooting at a gas station on Crosby-Lynchburg Road near the Crosby Freeway in Crosby, Texas, left 19-year-old Blandon Phillips dead. The incident happened around 10 p.m. at a gathering of nearly 100 people that authorities say appeared to be a peaceful event, possibly a benefit, where attendees were dancing and socializing. Seven people total were shot—five men and two women, ages 16 to 25—and Blandon Phillips was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Law enforcement reports that no suspects have been identified and no firearm or firearms have been recovered, so no charges have been filed as the investigation continues. Local business owners and a food truck operator at the site expressed concern about safety and urged a greater law enforcement presence; legal experts have also questioned whether security measures on the property were adequate. Anyone with information about the shooting is being asked to contact investigators. Does anyone who was at the event or who has footage of the area that night have information to share?
