Brenda Sharon Sorace, 76, was found shot to death at her home on Dundee Court in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, on January 9, 2025. She worked as an interior designer and more recently as a jewelry designer, and her family remembers her for a love of animals; her household included dogs, cats, birds and an iguana.
The investigation identified her husband, 87-year-old John Sorace, as a suspect. John Sorace is a former assistant police chief with the Metro Nashville Police Department who once testified before Congress during the Civil Rights Movement. He was taken into custody and charged with reckless homicide and booked into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center on a $700,000 bond. The case is scheduled to proceed in General Sessions Court.
What did neighbors, friends or anyone who knew Sharon and her household notice in the days before January 9?
