A December 15, 2024 shooting on East Dogwood Drive in Mullins, South Carolina, killed 62-year-old Ronnie Norman and wounded two others. Norman was with a neighbor and another friend when gunfire erupted in what some have described as a cold and calculated ambush. A family member of one of the wounded believes her nephew, who was at the scene, may have been the intended target, but motive remains under investigation.

Friends and neighbors placed a flower memorial and remembered Norman as a happy, loving man who always wore a smile. The Mullins Police Department, assisted by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, is investigating; no arrests have been announced and the search for the shooter or shooters is ongoing.
