A late-afternoon shooting in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, on April 8, 2025, ended the life of 19-year-old Sincere Devon Fitz and two other teenagers. The shooting occurred in the Olde Greenwich Circle area during what is described as an illicit transaction involving the illegal sale of a firearm that escalated into robbery and deadly violence.
Law enforcement arrived about 5:30 p.m. to multiple people with gunshot wounds. Three young men, including Fitz, were pronounced dead and three others were injured. Witnesses reported hearing what sounded like a machine gun. The Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by Fredericksburg Police and Virginia State Police, identified and arrested four suspects: 18-year-old Jeremiah Upson of Caroline County and three juveniles (two 16-year-olds and a 17-year-old). One 16-year-old was treated for a gunshot wound at a hospital and later released into custody.
All four face charges that include malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and unlawful assembly. Local schools delayed classes as the community reacted to the deaths and arrests. If anyone has information about Sincere Devon Fitz, his activities that day, or the shooting, please share what is known.
