On the evening of Sunday, February 23, 2025, Angel Emmanuel Plascencia-Gutierrez, an 18-year-old Hispanic male, was found in the 1300 block of South 13th Street in Sunnyside, Washington, with gunshot wounds. Police located him at about 7:18 p.m.; he died at the scene.

Security camera footage from the area shows Plascencia-Gutierrez talking with two people before drawing a firearm and firing at them. The two returned fire and struck him twice. Those two individuals have not been identified and no arrests have been announced.

Investigators note Plascencia-Gutierrez had recently been released on bail while facing Yakima County Superior Court charges of possession of a stolen firearm and second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm related to an alleged January murder. Authorities have not determined whether the February shooting was gang-related.

Does anyone in Sunnyside have information about who those two people might be or saw anything that night?
