Kharrelle Nyiem Allen was 16 when he was shot during an incident in Lynchburg, Virginia. He was a student at Fort Hill Community School, enjoyed dancing with friends and playing football, and was described as having a distinct smile and dimples. On the afternoon of January 9, 2025, Allen called a friend for a ride from an apartment complex because he was in some kind of trouble. After being picked up, the vehicle was pursued by a blue Kia Soul to the area of Hillcrest Avenue and Morgan Street, where gunfire struck the car he occupied.

A bullet hit Allen in the head; he was taken to Centra Lynchburg General Hospital and died in the early morning hours of January 10, 2025. Court documents and investigators identify another teenager who had been in the same car, Shane Jones, as the person who fired the fatal shot from the back seat. Jones, a juvenile, was arrested on January 16 and charged with felony homicide, aggravated malicious wounding and two misdemeanors; a grand jury certified those charges and a jury trial was set for July 23. Does anyone have information about Allen’s last movements or the blue Kia Soul involved in the pursuit?
