Two teenagers were killed in Pleasanton, Texas on February 27, 2025. Fourteen-year-old Mesiah Rangel, a Hispanic male, and his 17-year-old brother Ray Gomez Jr. were found by their mother unresponsive and bleeding in a shed behind their home near 3rd Street and Pleasanton Avenue. Both victims died from gunshot wounds and their bodies were transported to the Fort Bend County Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.
The Pleasanton Police Department, assisted by the Texas Rangers, identified and located two male juvenile suspects inside a vehicle. Investigators say evidence recovered in that vehicle and at two other locations across the city linked the juveniles to the shooting, and a possible murder weapon was recovered. The suspects were taken into custody and charged with capital murder; they were booked into the Atascosa County Juvenile Detention Center. The investigation is active as authorities continue to process evidence and gather details.
If anyone knew Mesiah or Ray, or has information about the shooting or the locations mentioned, please come forward to help the ongoing investigation.
