A shooting outside a nightclub in Amarillo, Texas, on January 26, 2025, left 25-year-old John Love Louima dead. Witnesses say a vehicle pulled up to the club on South Polk Street in the early morning hours, an individual exited and fired a rifle into a crowd, then returned to the vehicle and fled. Nine people were wounded; Louima later died at the hospital.

A bystander followed the suspect vehicle and told deputies where it went. Randall County Sheriff’s deputies stopped the car near Hillside and Bell streets and arrested three people. The suspected shooter is identified as 23-year-old Robert Kenney Knox; the driver is 21-year-old Nahryah Hilesta Ines Hayes. A 22-year-old passenger, Britt Brinson Cave, was also arrested. Knox and Hayes face one count of murder and eight counts of deadly conduct; Cave was charged with public intoxication. Authorities recovered a firearm, shell casings, and other evidence. Investigators say the attack may be linked to an earlier altercation inside the club, but the motive remains under investigation.
