Deshawndrey Bowman, a 24-year-old African American man from Beaumont, Texas, was fatally shot after being found in a black Chevrolet Malibu on Sycamore Street and Gulf States Road. The shooting occurred on January 24, 2025, near Brooklyn Street and Madison Avenue; Bowman was discovered in his car with multiple gunshot wounds, taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in critical condition, and died on January 27. An autopsy showed five gunshot wounds.

Investigators found damaged car parts and three cell phones in the roadway near the initial scene. Officers recovered a large quantity of narcotics, a firearm, and spent shell casings inside Bowman’s vehicle, and say he was allegedly lured to a vacant house on Sherman Street under the pretense of a drug transaction before being shot while seated in his car. Two men were later indicted: Giovanni Coleman, 17, and Jacorian Flemings, 20; authorities allege Coleman fired from the passenger side and phone records show repeated contact between Coleman and Bowman despite Coleman’s denials. The investigation is ongoing.

Does anyone have information about Bowman’s movements that day or about activity near Sherman Street or the Sycamore and Gulf States Road area?
