Robert Eric Lindsey, 41, of Baytown, Texas, was shot on the night of January 23, 2025, at the Down on Main Street Bar in the 4900 block of North Main and died after being taken to Baytown Methodist Hospital. Born August 11, 1983, Lindsey grew up in San Augustine, later lived in Pasadena and South Houston, and had called Baytown home since 2004. He worked as a crane operator and was nicknamed Spoon by coworkers.

Responding officers found Lindsey with at least one gunshot wound; bystanders, police and emergency personnel performed life-saving measures before he was transported to the hospital. Detectives identified two persons of interest who had fled the scene; a male and a female were later located at an apartment complex in the 1600 block of Garth and detained. The female was released without charges and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted murder charges against 32-year-old Njoroge Kuria of Baytown.
