Carmen Lorraine Colon, 22, was found dead on August 13, 1978, along the Carquinez Scenic Highway between Crockett and Port Costa, California. A Highway Patrol officer discovered her nude, decomposing body while responding to reports of a cattle shooting. Authorities described Colon as a sex worker, a trait shared by other victims later linked to the same killer.

Her death was later tied to Joseph Naso, also known as Crazy Joe or the Double Initial Killer. Naso, born in Rochester, New York, worked as a freelance photographer and had a long history of petty crimes. Investigators connected Colon’s murder to a pattern in which victims with matching first and last initials were dumped in rural Northern California locations; other named victims include Roxene Roggasch, Pamela Parsons, and Tracy Tafoya. Forensic evidence and those patterns ultimately linked Colon’s case to Naso.

Does anyone have information about Colon’s life, work, or movements in 1978 that could add detail to the timeline leading up to her death?
