Daniel Gilberto, a 49-year-old Caucasian man, was found dead after a deliberately set garage fire at a home on Glistening Sands Drive in Las Vegas. The blaze was reported in the early hours of Tuesday, February 5, 2013; firefighters extinguishing the fire discovered his body inside the trunk of a car. The Clark County coroner determined the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head, and not the fire.

Investigators believe Gilberto arrived home shortly after 2 a.m., stumbled on a burglary in progress, and was assaulted and killed by the suspects, who then set the fire to hide their crime. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Homicide Section opened an intensive investigation but did not immediately identify any suspects. Authorities found no evidence Gilberto knew his assailants, and no arrests have been announced.

Did anyone in the area that night see suspicious activity or a vehicle near Glistening Sands Drive shortly before or after 2 a.m. on February 5, 2013?
