Michelle Andrea Winters, a 17-year-old white female from Pembroke Pines, Florida, died in early January 1976. She was buried at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Lauderdale.
Her death occurred during a string of unsolved South Florida killings from 1975 into early 1976 later described as the Flat-Tire Murders. Those victims were mainly young white females, many found in or near canals; the name comes from a theory that a perpetrator deflated victims’ tires to create vulnerable situations. Investigators at the time described a suspect as a white male in his early twenties, physically fit, well dressed, and highly intelligent; several victims showed signs of blunt force trauma, strangulation, or stabbing and were recovered partially clothed or nude in remote locations.
Michelle Winters is not listed on every public list of confirmed Flat-Tire victims, but her age, timing, and location have led some to suggest a possible connection. No suspect was ever arrested in the series and the killings remain unsolved. Did anyone in Broward County in 1975–76 have information about Michelle Winters or her last known movements?
