Debra Cobb, 37, was killed during a robbery at her workplace in an office plaza in Forestville, Maryland. Multiple published accounts place her death on June 13, 1994. Investigators focused on a man who also worked in the same cluster of offices, and Alexander Wayne Watson Jr. was arrested not long after the killing.

Watson ultimately pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in Cobb’s case and, citing an addiction to crack cocaine in materials he submitted before sentencing, received a life sentence without the possibility of parole in December 1994. Years later investigators linked Watson by DNA to three older killings in Anne Arundel County; he was charged in those cases in 2004 and later pleaded guilty to avoid the death penalty, receiving additional life terms.

Cobb’s murder was the crime that put Watson behind bars and later helped tie him to other killings. If anyone worked at that Forestville office plaza in 1994 or has information about Cobb’s last day, please share what is known.
