Jenevieve Raygoza, 28, was one of four people killed on March 31, 2021, when a shooter attacked an office building at 202 W. Lincoln Avenue in Orange. The attack also took the lives of her father, 50-year-old Luis Tovar; her 9-year-old brother, Matthew Farias; and 58-year-old employee Leticia Solis Guzman. Raygoza was a mother of two boys, ages 8 and 4; her husband described her as devoted to raising their children and making a loving home.

Authorities say the suspect, 44-year-old Aminadab Gaxiola Gonzalez, chained the complex gates shut with bicycle cable locks before opening fire. Investigators reported Gonzalez had personal and business relationships with the victims. He fired at arriving officers and was shot in the courtyard; he was charged with four counts of murder, three counts of attempted murder including two counts for the officers, and a special-circumstance multiple-murder allegation. Family members said 9-year-old Matthew died in his mother Blanca Tomayo’s arms while she tried to shield him; Tomayo survived but was hospitalized in critical condition.
