Keith Arthur Klingbeil, a 23-year-old white male, was murdered on July 6, 1978, in Mission Viejo, Orange County, California. His body was found in the northbound lane of the San Diego Freeway just south of La Paz Road; reports state his body had been thrown from a moving vehicle, suggesting an attempt to dump him on a public roadway.
Klingbeil was later identified as one of the victims linked to Randy Steven Kraft, who targeted young men and left multiple bodies near freeways. Kraft’s crimes involved drugging, sexual assault, and torture before killing victims, and investigators found a coded list connecting Klingbeil to Kraft’s pattern.
If anyone knew Keith’s background, where he was living in 1978, or has information about his last known movements, please share what you know with investigators.
