In the spring of 1973, 26-year-old mother Hazel Haze or June Cross disappeared from Toledo, Ohio. On May 1 she left for a routine trip to the grocery store and was never seen again. Her truck was later found abandoned in the store parking lot with no obvious signs of struggle. Identifying details circulated by family included long brown hair, blue eyes, pierced ears and a distinctive scar where the tip of one finger had been cut off.

Hazel was raising five children alone at the time while her husband was away in the Detroit area. Her sister traveled to Toledo to care for the children immediately after Hazel vanished; the children were later taken in by their father. The Toledo Police Department investigated but the case went cold. Public discussion has noted a possible connection to Gary Addison Taylor, a violent offender active in the region, though law enforcement has not officially named him a suspect in this disappearance.

Did anyone in Toledo in 1973 or surrounding communities have contact with Hazel around May 1 or remember seeing her truck in that grocery lot?
