Shortly before 3:15 a.m. on Sunday, August 31, 2025, a fight between two groups on North Washington Boulevard near Princeton Street in Sarasota turned deadly. Witnesses said a man produced a 9mm handgun and fired multiple times during a brawl outside a cluster of late-night venues. Jessica Lillo, 36, was struck and died at the scene; a man with her was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital in stable condition.

Officers arriving within minutes found shell casings on the street and bystanders restraining a suspected gunman while another person held the weapon. Detectives recovered seven 9mm casings and a live round; one witness also turned over a 9mm pistol. Witness accounts differed about the sequence: a boyfriend heard three close-range shots and saw Lillo fall, some witnesses said the suspect fired near a red truck, and the suspect later told detectives he fired into the grass as warning shots before joining the fight.

Police identified the suspect as Grevil Vicente Bonilla Enamorado, 29, of Bradenton. He was arrested that morning on charges of homicide and aggravated battery with a firearm, held without bond, and entered a not-guilty plea with a jury trial demanded. Candles and online remembrances appeared for Lillo as investigators sought anyone with information. Does anyone have details about that night or saw what happened near the 1100 block of North Washington Boulevard?
