Nelson Reynolds Crenshaw III, 46, was found in a wooded area near the 6000 block of Harrison Road in Macon after deputies responded around 9:30 a.m. on August 31, 2025. He had suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to Atrium Health Navicent Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead about 10:15 a.m.

Bibb County deputies opened an investigation and asked the public for information. A suspect, 60-year-old Macon resident Timothy Hurt, was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Taskforce and transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. He has been charged with murder and is being held without bond.
