Kelan Rodriguez was 19 when he was found with obvious signs of trauma in the predawn hours of Sunday, June 15, 2025, near the intersection of East Ella J. Gilmore Street and Clarcona Road in South Apopka. Orange County Sheriff’s deputies arrived around 3:15–3:30 a.m.; he was rushed to a local hospital and later pronounced dead. Authorities publicly identified him on June 17 and classified the case as a homicide.
Investigators processed the roadside scene and canvassed the neighborhood, with forensic teams working through the morning while detectives sought leads on why Rodriguez was at that corner and how the fatal encounter unfolded. Family, friends, and neighbors held a vigil near his home area; an online obituary noted his age and Apopka roots. By the close of the initial investigative window and in subsequent updates, no arrests had been announced and no suspects were publicly named.
If anyone has information about what happened to Kelan Rodriguez that night, please contact the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
