On the evening of July 19, 2025, 57-year-old Vladimir Fedun was shot multiple times outside a home on the 6500 block of Thalia Way in Citrus Heights, California. Officers arrived just before 9:30 p.m., moved him from the immediate area to render aid, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police described the killing as an isolated incident and, at that point in the year, the city’s second homicide.

Investigators quickly identified a suspect as 55-year-old neighbor Victor Bubliyenko, who was said to be acquainted with Fedun. Detectives searched multiple locations overnight, asked the public for tips, and the next day around 1 p.m. officers found and took the suspect into custody without incident near San Juan and Sunset avenues. Community notices confirmed the date and place of death and described the dispute as confined to those involved. No additional suspects were announced and authorities had not disclosed a detailed motive while investigators continued gathering statements and evidence.

Did anyone in the Citrus Heights area know the victim or the neighbor and have relevant information about what led to this dispute?
