I can't shake the feeling of sadness thinking about Mr. Tostevin. I read somewhere that he was quite well-known in the Pacoima area, having lived there for decades. The neighbors often saw him tending to his garden and he was said to have a kind smile for everyone. It's hard to wrap my head around how someone so woven into the community fabric could meet such a tragic end. Even though authorities have ruled his death a suicide, I can't help but wonder about his life story. I wish more people could have known him, or that his struggles, whatever they were, could have been talked about and addressed. Maybe then, we wouldn't have lost him this way. To anyone reading this who might have known him personally, my thoughts are with you. It really goes to show we never truly know the burdens others carry.
