Shortly after midnight on July 10, 2025, gunfire erupted along the 1600 block of Dairy Avenue in Corcoran, California. Responding officers found a car that had crashed into a parked SUV near a late-night food stand; the driver, identified as Joshua James William Morton, 30, of Hanford, had sustained fatal gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. Surveillance footage and witness reports describe a car racing across Dairy Avenue and a loud crash during the chaos.

A woman who had closed her food truck was struck by the vehicle and hospitalized with injuries. A second gunshot victim from the same incident, 19-year-old Francisco Montez of Corcoran, was taken to a Tulare hospital and also died. Detectives opened a double-homicide investigation and asked witnesses to come forward; initial police statements said no suspect or motive had been identified and no arrests were announced. If anyone witnessed the shooting, the crash, or the moments just before or after, please share what was seen with investigators.
