On a Sunday evening in a Woodstock subdivision, 48-year-old Tenisha Williams was shot and killed inside her home on Daventry Crossing after a family argument turned violent. Deputies found Tenisha deceased from an apparent gunshot wound when they arrived at the house.
Her husband, 47-year-old Kelvin Williams, was identified as the suspect. According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, investigators say Kelvin first tried to shoot his 16-year-old stepson; when that attempt failed, he allegedly shot Tenisha. A four-year-old child was also in the home; neither child was physically harmed. Neighbors described the couple as seemingly cordial, and the two children were placed in the custody of the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services.
Kelvin Williams was arrested at the scene and charged with murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and first-degree cruelty to children; he is being held at the Cherokee Adult Detention Center without bond. The investigation is ongoing. Did anyone in the Woodstock area know the Williams family or witness unusual activity at the Daventry Crossing home?
