An 18-year-old, Qwamaine Lewis, was shot about 7:45 p.m. on a Wednesday in the 100 block of South Houston Lake Road in Warner Robins and later died after emergency surgery at Atrium Health Navicent. He had a single gunshot wound and was reported to have succumbed to his injuries just before 1 a.m. the following morning.
Police say the shooting began as a robbery. Two teenage suspects were arrested hours later in Americus near a white BMW that had been linked to the incident; a BOLO was issued for the vehicle after a caller reported it smoking on the side of the road. Kel’zavious Felder, 19, and Jaylen McSwain, 18, were charged with felony murder. Felder also faces conspiracy to commit armed robbery and possession of a stolen firearm; McSwain is charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm during a felony. The investigation remains ongoing and the case has been turned over to the Houston County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
Does anyone have information about Qwamaine’s presence on South Houston Lake Road that evening or saw the white BMW in the area?
