Evelie LaCroix, described by friends as joyful and outgoing, was fatally shot in her Plainfield, Indiana home on June 28, 2025. Her estranged husband, 47-year-old Steeve Chavannes, arrived at the residence that day with a friend, reportedly under the pretense of retrieving personal belongings.
