A late-night argument at a Norcross motel ended in murder when 29-year-old Andre Jones was shot in the chest just before midnight on June 17, 2025. The shooting occurred in the 6000 block of Dawson Boulevard at the Horizon Inn and Suites. Jones was taken to a nearby hospital and died of his wounds; an uninvolved woman was also hit in the leg during the incident.
Gwinnett County investigators identified two suspects in the days after the shooting: 33-year-old Dametris Bush of Marietta and 28-year-old Jaharri Foster of Stockbridge. Surveillance footage showed Bush and two co-defendants at the motel earlier in the day; they left and returned hours later. A license plate reader captured the getaway car tag that helped identify the suspects. Prosecutors described the killing as retaliatory, carried out by a Gangster Disciples member who believed Jones had stolen a firearm; investigators say Jones had no gang ties and was not involved in the alleged theft.
Jones is survived by his mother, Gerrica Wilson, who remembered him as lively and unapologetic and the father of three boys. Does anyone have information about Jones’s movements at the Horizon Inn and Suites on June 17, 2025, or about the car seen on surveillance?
