Tornor Dejuan Doby, 28, was shot and killed in the entryway of a residence in the 1000 block of Hamilton Avenue in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on June 26, 2025. The Allen County Coroner ruled the death a homicide from a gunshot wound and listed Doby as the county’s 20th homicide victim that year.
Investigators say the encounter began after a dispute tied to vandalism at a beauty salon. Three people — 37-year-old Quenecia Labre Gaylor, 29-year-old Shan Lindell Ford Jr., and 39-year-old Anisha Denise Jackson — drove to the Hamilton Avenue home. After a child answered the door and it was closed, Ford allegedly threatened to shoot at the house and Gaylor reportedly threw a computer tower through a window. Doby, described as a Black male, came to the door armed and an exchange of gunfire took place; Doby was killed and Jackson, who had been sitting in the drivers seat of the SUV, was also fatally wounded.
The Fort Wayne Police Department’s Homicide Task Force identified Gaylor and Ford as suspects and arrested both without incident on June 27, 2025. Preliminary charges filed against Ford and Gaylor include murder, felony murder, and attempted burglary; both were booked into the Allen County jail as the investigation continued.
Did anyone in Fort Wayne see or hear anything that night on Hamilton Avenue or know more about the vandalism that led to this confrontation?
