Israel Izzy Mays, 19, was killed in a mass shooting after a large party began breaking up in the 300 block of Taylor Avenue in Evansville, Indiana. The disturbance unfolded around 12:30 a.m. on June 15, 2025, when multiple people reportedly opened fire into the crowd. Mays was wounded and taken to Ascension St. Vincent Hospital, where he later died; the Vanderburgh County Coroner identified him as the sole fatality.

Police described the scene as chaotic, with several people suffering gunshot wounds and at least one person struck by a vehicle as partygoers fled. A 21-year-old, Alexis Wilhite, was arrested on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident causing injury in connection with the vehicle strike. Detectives say the shooting investigation is active, they believe multiple shooters were involved, and no suspects in the shooting had been arrested as of initial reports.

Anyone who was at the party or has video or other information that could help investigators is asked to come forward.
