In the early summer of 2012, 14-year-old Brittany Robinson was dropped off by her aunt at her father’s home on McCovery Road in Mobile, Alabama for a planned two-day visit. She ran back to give her mother a last kiss and an I love you; that was the last time her mother saw her. Brittany was last seen wearing a pink floral shirt and blue jeans and she suffered from severe asthma but did not have her medication with her.

The investigation quickly focused on her father, Demetric L. Hooper, who left the Mobile area soon after Brittany was last seen and traveled around the southeastern United States. About three weeks later he was seen taking a bus from Memphis to Arkansas without Brittany. Six weeks after the disappearance, a warrant was issued for his arrest; in September 2012 he was located at a mental health facility in Arkansas and was not with Brittany. At arrest he had Brittany’s pink iPod, knives and a rope and was charged with felony custodial interference.

Hooper pleaded guilty to custodial interference in August 2014 and was sentenced to ten years, then released in December 2016 after serving part of that sentence. Despite later legal developments, Brittany has never been found and her disappearance remains unsolved. If anyone knew Brittany’s routines, friends, or where she might have been taken during that weekend in June 2012, please share what you know.
