I'm truly saddened by the loss of Craig Cousins and Billy Hinkle. Reading about how they acted as "peacekeepers" within their community touched me deeply. It's evident how much they cared for people around them, trying to maintain some peace amid such challenging circumstances. It's tragic that their lives ended while serving their community in this selfless way. I wonder if the environment in the encampment, and the tensions that can rise there, might have contributed to such a senseless act of violence. These communities, often overlooked by society, need so much more support and protection to prevent devastating outcomes like this. I hope Craig and Billy's efforts aren't forgotten and that their deaths spark a conversation on how to make these vulnerable areas safer. Sending out love to those who knew and loved them. If there's anything positive that can emerge from this tragic loss, it's a greater awareness and commitment to helping those who live in such environments.
