A fishing trip among acquaintances in Marrero, Louisiana, ended with the death of 34-year-old Lacey Lombas. What began as a verbal disagreement between Lombas and 41-year-old Sarah Duffy escalated into a physical fight at the fishing spot and then resumed inside a vehicle. During that second confrontation Duffy allegedly produced a handgun and a struggle for the weapon took place.
The gun discharged; Lombas was struck in the head and pronounced dead at the scene. Duffy suffered a gunshot wound to her leg and, after treatment, was arrested and booked into the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center on a manslaughter charge. The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation.
If anyone was at the fishing spot or saw either woman that day, can you share what you saw or heard?
