A 16-year-old Grenada High School student, Ayden Reno, was found dead the night of Monday, September 22, 2025, in a brushy, overgrown area beside a home near Honeytown Park on Leigh Avenue. Officers located his body at about 11:41 p.m.; the Grenada County Coroner pronounced him dead at 12:25 a.m. on Tuesday, September 23. Earlier that evening there had been reports of gunshots in the area, and Reno was a junior who played defensive back, wore number 27 for the Chargers, and sang with the Visions show choir.
Within a week police arrested four teenagers in connection with the case. On Monday, September 29, authorities arrested 18-year-old Lamarion Henderson, 16-year-old Nickolus Brown, and 15-year-old Zacarias Steward; 18-year-old Ryan Spencer was taken into custody the next morning. Henderson, Brown, and Steward were each charged with first-degree murder by deliberate design and were booked with bonds set at $250,000 apiece; the District Attorney is charging the three as adults. Spencer was charged with accessory after the fact and posted a $20,000 bond. All four were held at the Grenada County Jail and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for October 14 in Grenada Municipal Court.
What details about the evening of September 22, or about Ayden’s movements that night, might help clarify what happened?
