On the morning of May 30, 2025, Anthony Bullock, a 23-year-old Black man from Washington, D.C., was shot and killed on the sidewalk outside a CVS in Temple Hills, Maryland. Witnesses said the assailant approached Bullock, greeted him with a handshake, then produced a handgun and fired multiple close-range shots, standing over Bullock to continue firing. Bullock was found suffering multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 10 a.m. on the 7000 block of Allentown Road.

Prince George’s County detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and sought video footage. Within days, investigators identified and arrested 18-year-old Christian Okubo of Temple Hills; authorities said Okubo and Bullock were known to each other. Okubo was charged with first-degree murder and related offenses and held without bond. The motive remains under investigation.
