Tyler Tunstalle, 20, was shot while sitting in his car near Hollins Ferry Road and Lansdowne Road in the early evening of May 14, 2025. He was taken to a local hospital and died of his wounds on May 19, 2025. Authorities say the shooting happened at about 6:50 p.m.; Tyler had gone out to get food that evening and his mother, Tina Tunstalle, used a phone locator app when he did not return on time. Tina found him injured at the scene and later described him as a joyful, driven young man who had been a scholar-athlete at Baltimore City College High School and held the highest grade point average on his football team.
The Baltimore County Police Homicide Unit is handling the case. As of late 2025 no suspects have been publicly identified and no arrests have been announced. The family has expressed frustration with the investigation and hired a private detective; a reward of up to $2,000 has been offered for information leading to an arrest.
If anyone was in the Hollins Ferry Road and Lansdowne Road area on the evening of May 14, 2025, or has information about Tyler’s movements that night, please contact detectives with any tips.
