Thomas Enquist Sr., 42, was found dead in his black Ford F-150 on Route 101 in Auburn, New Hampshire, on November 23, 2010. His pickup had been pulled into the breakdown lane between exits 1 and 2; a passing motorist first thought the truck was abandoned before it was discovered that Enquist had been shot multiple times. Emergency responders arrived about 10:38 p.m. and he was already deceased. His death was ruled a homicide.
Family members said Enquist had no known enemies. Investigators have followed various leads, including an unconfirmed theory about a possible connection to drug activity, but no arrests have been made and the case remains unsolved. The location on a busy highway raises the possibility that a witness may have seen something useful, yet no substantial evidence has emerged.
Anyone who was on Route 101 near exits 1 and 2 on the night of November 23, 2010, or who has information about Enquist’s activities that evening is asked to come forward.
