LONG LIVE MY HEART
David Weaver, 32, was found dead in the passenger seat of a white Lexus that had been set on fire on Mary Dee Avenue in the early morning hours of August 17, 2025. Firefighters located his body after extinguishing the blaze; the Clark County Coroner determined he died from a single gunshot wound to the head, and his death was ruled a homicide. Friends say Weaver received a disturbing phone call the night he left home and left shortly afterward. Surveillance footage shows someone exiting the driver’s side, wiping down the vehicle, and leaving as smoke filled the car.
Phone records placed Weaver with Marcella Jean Patterson and Myron Jackson in the hours before his death. Investigators recovered a cartridge casing and an incendiary wick inside the charred vehicle. On September 4, officers located Patterson and Jackson near the Silver Sevens casino; a barricade developed when Jackson remained inside a vehicle and he later died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police believe Jackson shot Weaver and set the car on fire. Patterson, 42, was arrested and charged with open murder with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit murder, and third-degree arson; she admitted to driving another suspect away from the burning SUV and was held ineligible for bail.
Are there any neighborhood residents or witnesses who saw the Lexus on Mary Dee Avenue that night or who recognize the person shown on surveillance?
