A domestic dispute in the early morning of August 13, 2025, ended with Thomas Couch found dead at his home at 404 South Main Street in Clinton, Missouri. Neighbors reported the argument from the previous night had been severe; family members said Thomas had torn up the house and threatened his wife, Angelika Couch, including an allegation that he placed a handgun in her mouth.

At about 6:34 a.m. Angelika called dispatch and told officers she had shot her husband. Police found Thomas deceased in bed with an apparent gunshot wound to the back of his head. Investigators recovered a .38 special revolver at the scene; it contained five cartridges, one spent. Angelika was taken into custody, placed on a 24-hour hold, and later charged by warrant with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. She was being held at the Henry County Jail without bond while the investigation continued.

What does anyone in the area remember about the days leading up to August 13 that might help explain how the dispute escalated?
