A June 29, 2025 party on Kincaid Road in Starkville, Mississippi, ended in gunfire that killed 18-year-old Kaiden Evans and 21-year-old Jordan Mitchell. Deputies from the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office responded after reports of shots at about 2:30 a.m.; both victims were taken to OCH Regional Medical Center and later died of their wounds.

Investigators identified brothers Travis Chandler, 34, and Devon Chandler, 27, of Starkville as primary suspects and obtained murder warrants. The Chandlers turned themselves in to the Oktibbeha County Jail on June 30, 2025, and remained in custody as the probe continued. The victims’ bodies were sent to the state crime lab in Pearl for autopsy, and authorities said the investigation is active with additional arrests possible. No motive has been released.

Funeral services for Kaiden Evans were scheduled for July 12, 2025, at Beth-el MB Church in Starkville. If anyone attended the party or has information about the shooting, please share what was seen or heard.
