A dispute between two men on Walker Road near Hattiesburg, Mississippi, turned deadly on June 25, 2025. Deputies responding to a 911 call about gunfire found 59-year-old Thomas Roseberry with fatal gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene. A 41-year-old man, James Walker, also was found wounded, treated at a local hospital, and later taken into custody.

Authorities charged James Walker with murder in connection with Roseberry’s death and scheduled an initial appearance in justice court in the days after the shooting. The Forrest County Sheriff’s Office described the shooting as the culmination of a dispute and says the investigation remains active.
