On the night of November 30, 1998, firefighters responded to a blaze at 220 Pine Street in Manchester, New Hampshire. The fire consumed the second- and third-story porches, and crews later found the body of 46-year-old Allen A. Pineau on the third floor. Pineau, who lived at 199 Manchester Street, died in the fire.

The Fire Marshal ruled the blaze was deliberately set, and the death was treated as a homicide. Despite an extensive investigation by the Manchester Police Department and other authorities, no suspects have been publicly identified and no arrests announced. The case remains unsolved and is now a cold case; Manchester CrimeLine has offered a reward for information leading to an arrest and indictment.

If anyone has information about that night, the building, or Allen Pineau’s contacts in late 1998, please contact investigators or Manchester CrimeLine.
