Diethelm Baumann, a 30-year-old German national, was shot dead in the face on February 26, 1993, outside the Lafayette Club on Canal Street in Manchester, New Hampshire. The shooting occurred in an area with several people present and a busy club nearby, yet no one was able to definitively identify the shooter.
Baumann’s female companion described the suspect as a white male with dark hair and a mustache, last seen leaving in a pickup truck covered in snow. The investigation was extensive and later involved the New Hampshire Cold Case Unit and local police, but produced no arrests. Authorities have not been able to determine whether Baumann knew his assailant or whether the attack was random.
Anyone with memories of that night or information about a white male with a dark mustache and a snowy pickup truck is asked to come forward.
