David Pickett, 59, was found dead on a New Castle, New Hampshire, beach on a cold February morning in 1993. He died from slashes to the throat and a stab wound in the back; an autopsy ruled the cause of death homicide. He was wearing beige clothing and a reflective jacket when found, with his boots placed neatly beside his body.

State Police treated the scene as a homicide, sealing off the beach while the U.S. Coast Guard searched nearby waters and investigators searched Pickett’s apartment across from town hall. The case went cold and no arrests were made. Suspicion in the community later turned toward David’s brother, Robert Pickett, after reports of a strained relationship and recent disputes over a family home that David intended to force the sale of. No criminal charges were filed against Robert, but Mary Hopwood, their sister, pursued a civil action to block him from inheriting David’s share of the estate.

Does anyone have information about David, his movements that February, or the family dispute over the property?
