Andre J. Johnson, 42, of Independence, Missouri, was killed in a shooting on or about May 14, 2025. Friends and family remember him as a loving, outgoing man who worked as a truck driver, cook, and welder. The community response has focused on his roles and the sudden loss.
The Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office charged Jadon T. Stumph with second-degree murder, alleging he intentionally caused serious physical injury to Johnson by shooting him with a .40 caliber handgun, which led to Johnson’s death. Stumph also faces counts of armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm; court records state he was barred from possessing weapons because of a June 2015 robbery in the second degree conviction in Clay County.
Does anyone have information about Johnson’s last known movements or witnessed circumstances around the May 14 shooting?
