Tresor Shukura, 20, was shot and killed on the evening of September 1, 2025, on the 800 block of East Lexington Avenue. Police were called about 9:30 p.m. for an assault with a deadly weapon; officers found Shukura in the roadway with a gunshot wound and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives described the killing as an isolated incident and said it was the city’s fourth homicide of the year.
Investigators said an argument had erupted between acquaintances and that an 18-year-old who later arrived at a local hospital with gunshot wounds was identified as the suspect. Once released from medical care, Obed Ndizihiwe, 18, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and booked into the Guilford County Jail with no bond. Police said all involved parties had been identified and that additional charges could follow as the investigation continued.
Does anyone who knew Tresor or who was in the area that night have information that could help clarify what happened?
