On the evening of June 30, 2025, Jesus Carranco, 34, was found fatally shot inside a home on the 1600 block of Amhurst Street in Albemarle, North Carolina. Police arrested 23-year-old Alex Jamies Meras at the scene and charged him with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder related to a female victim.
