Timmy Jaurice Moore, a 33-year-old Black man from Statesville, North Carolina, was shot and killed near Deaton Street by Abernathy Ball Field shortly before 12:45 p.m. on June 14, 2025. Officers responding to reports of gunfire found him in a nearby front yard with multiple gunshot wounds to the abdomen and legs; he was taken to Iredell Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead.
Investigators quickly identified a suspect and obtained a murder warrant for Austin Ty’Kim Kimbe Morrison, 23, of Statesville. In the days after the shooting, police said the investigation tied Morrison to the Deaton Street killing and later located and arrested him after an incident on June 30 in which he fled from a traffic stop, drove off the roadway through residential yards, ran on foot, and was taken into custody. He was booked into the Iredell County Detention Center and held without bond.
Friends and relatives memorialized Moore in online obituaries and funeral arrangements in Statesville, and local outlets listed his death among those lost to gun violence on June 14, 2025. Does anyone in the community have information about the shooting or about Timmy’s movements that afternoon?
