Shortly after 2 a.m. on June 8, 2025, gunfire erupted at the Outlaw Motorcycle Club house on North Main Avenue in Newton, North Carolina. Police and medics found two people shot; 32-year-old Jordan Matthew Cassel, male and White/Caucasian, was rushed to Catawba Valley Medical Center and died of his wounds. The other victim was transported locally then airlifted to Atrium Health in Charlotte in critical condition.

Investigators recovered more than three dozen shell casings across the parking lot and roadway and secured surveillance footage from nearby businesses. Early alerts and later statements linked the shooting to tensions between the Pagan’s Motorcycle Club and the Outlaws, and detectives pursued a working theory of a planned drive-by. SWAT teams later raided a Pagan’s clubhouse in Caldwell County and court filings described an SUV believed to have been used in the attack, but no arrests had been announced by late July and the homicide remained under active investigation.

If anyone has information about the night of June 8 or saw suspicious vehicles near North Main Avenue that morning, please come forward.
