Tranard E. Sheppard, 18, was shot and killed in the early morning hours of June 22, 2025, in Warrenville, South Carolina. Just before 2:00 a.m., gunfire was reported near the intersection of Sarah Street and Farrell Street. Deputies found Sheppard’s body in a yard in the 400 block of Sarah Street; he sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at 2:56 a.m. by the Aiken County Coroner. An autopsy was scheduled in Newberry to determine the exact cause and manner of death.

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office opened an immediate investigation and initially had no suspects. On July 2, 2025, a 17-year-old from North Augusta identified as Marquis Edric Robinson was arrested in Cayce and charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime; he is being prosecuted as an adult and held at the Aiken County Detention Center. No motive has been released and the investigation remains active.
